[ Ok, but this is the best thing he can ever have. It's always wonderful to see Prompto's face light up, and from the week he's had, it's been long in coming. The penalty or whatever that Prompto had to endure is way worse than Noctis' and he's giving him a quick squeeze, laughing softly at his delight. ]

Remember the coin thing we had? Wanted to get something for both you and Ignis, but then the camera ended up in the bag of coffee beans -- oh.

[ He's fishing in his pocket for the box of film. ] Before I forget. Here.

[Prompto takes the film, too, mouth open for a moment.]

Awww, Noct. You didn't get anything for yourself?

[That won't do. He puts camera and film down--carefully, of course, and picks up his chocobo so he can deposit it right in Noct's arms.]

Okay, then. You get to help me name this guy. We'll share.

Mmm?

[ Frankly, it hadn't occurred to him -- the first thing he thought of was the both of them. Besides, there's nothing more that he needs now anyway, not when they're both by his side. The only thing that had been off was that they were... sad, and Noctis can never abide that.

He blinks at the chocobo chick in his arms but warms to it almost immediately -- it's so cute! ]

Hey, little fella. [ Then, to Prompto, pleasantly surprised: ] You sure, buddy?

Yeah! All my ideas have stunk anyway.

[He plunks his butt down on the bed, kicking his feet.]

Unless you don't think you can top "Spot."

I could totally top Spot.

[ Noctis tells him breezily, plonking himself on the bed next to him, the cheeping chick safely snuggled in his arms. ]

What about Sparky?

Hm, Sparky? That's cute!

[Smiling, Prompto reaches over to stroke the chocobo's feathers.]

Why Sparky, though? Just because he's yellow?

And because you know how sometimes your bullets give off sparks when it ricochets?

[ Because this is Prompto's chocobo -- and Prompto loves this fella more than anyone else, it doesn't seem right to have some of Noctis himself in this precious dude. Besides, he chose the name! ]

Told you I'd pick a good one.

[ Heh. ]

[Prompto ends up laughing, honestly delighted, and bops Noct lightly in the arm.]

You know what? I love it! Spot and Sparky, they even match! [He puts his hands on his knees and leans down to talk to the newly-dubbed Sparky.] You like your new name, Sparky, buddy? Sparky Argentum!

[The chocobo cheeps again and turns up to Noct for treats. Feeeeeed hiiiimmmm.

[ oh he needs to feed the baby! Noctis cuddles the chocobo to him, fishing around in his pocket for a treat or two -- he's taken to bringing them around for Spot, and he finds one to feed Sparky, gently tucking it into the chick's beak. ]

Ah... here you go.

[ He's looking back at Prompto, grinning. ] So, is it a boy or girl?

A boy! Just like his dad.

[He scratches under Sparky's chin once he's done chewing the swallowing the treat. Sparky accepts this as his due and settles.]

You think he and Spot'll be best friends like we are? There's a pretty big age difference.

I think they'll be, if they're anything like us.

[ Noctis says as he looks down fondly at the bird, nuzzling Sparky because he just can't help it. The bird is so cute. ]

And I bet Sparky can run circles around Spot.

Oh no, what a terrible threat! Taking custody of my child away from me to the far reaches of your room where I sleep, too.
